Discover Hollow Brook Honey Bees
The story of Hollow Brook Honey Bees begins long before the first hive was ever placed on the farm. It reaches back to the summer of 2011, when a devastating tornado swept through central Massachusetts, leaving a trail of destruction across the town of Brimfield and the historic Hollow Brook Farm.
For years, the then owners of the property worked tirelessly to bring the farm back to its former glory, but despite their dedication, the farm’s full restoration remained unfinished. Eventually, the family made the difficult decision to put the farm up for sale.
Brian and Amy Carlisle, along with their three children, had long dreamed of reconnecting with the land and building a small farm of their own. When the opportunity arose to purchase the property, the Carlisles saw an opportunity to breathe life back into Hollow Brook Farm and restore that land's connection to the community.
A close friend of the Carlisles, beekeeper Paul Usera, had shared their vision for years. Dreams of sustainable farming and working in harmony with the land were frequent topics of discussion. When Brian and Amy began restoring the property, they invited Paul to establish an apiary at Hollow Brook Farm.
And so, in 2025, Hollow Brook Honey Bees was born—rooted in friendship and a shared commitment to rebuilding, growing, and more deeply connecting to the land.
